What Meaning Maker is
A reflective companion for preparation, presence, and integration around sacred medicine experiences. Wellness and meaning-making support — not therapy or medical care.
Users describe an intention, choose a personal "shrine" environment, and follow a generated path of reflective practices (journaling prompts, breath work, meditations, reading passages, voice or photo anchors). A single AI companion is available throughout for reflection.
What Meaning Maker is not
Meaning Maker is a wellness and reflection tool. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition, and is not a substitute for medical, psychological, or emergency care.
- It does not provide, prescribe, recommend, or sell any substance.
- It does not give dosing, sourcing, or procurement information.
- It does not provide therapy, counseling, or clinical advice.
- It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition.
Age and consent
Use is limited to adults (18+). On first launch, the user must cross a blocking threshold acknowledging three things: that this is a wellness and reflection tool, that they are responsible for their own care and choices, and that their reflections may be processed by AI to compose a personalized path. Acknowledgements are stored as an append-only audit trail.
Microphone, camera, and storage
The microphone and camera are used only when the user explicitly initiates a voice capture or photo anchor. A clear in-app disclosure is shown before either permission is requested. Recordings and photos are stored privately to that user, encrypted in transit and at rest, and visible only to the user who created them. The user can export or delete all of their data — including audio and photos — at any time from Settings.
AI behavior
All companion turns pass through a safety classifier before any AI call. Crisis intent, requests for dosing or sourcing, and requests for medical or therapeutic advice produce standardized refusals and surface real-world support — they do not reach the model.
Crisis routing
If a user expresses risk to themselves or others, the app surfaces these resources:
- 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (US) — Call or text 988
- Crisis Text Line (US/CA/UK/IE) — Text HOME to 741741
- International association of crisis lines — iasp.info/resources/Crisis_Centres
- Local emergency — Call 911 / 999 / 112
The companion always breaks role and points to real human support before continuing.
Data subject rights
From Settings, the user can export every record we hold for them as a JSON bundle, and delete the account and all associated data permanently. Both actions are self-service and immediate.
